Besides Japan-based Mitsui & Co. (TSE: 803) and Brazil-based group Cemig (BVMF: CMIG4; NYSE: CIG), other candidates could be interested in the acquisition of a 49% stake in Gaspetro, such as Japan-based Marubeni Corporation (TSE: 8002), Japan-based Itochu (TSE: 8001), China-based Beijing Gas, France-based Engie (former GDF Suez.) (Euronext Brussels: GDF; Euronext Paris: GDF), and Spain-based Gas Natural (BME: GAS), as published by Valor Econômico on 26 June 2015.

Brazilian companies Cosan (BVMF: CSAN3) and Gávea Investimentos, a private equity based in Rio de Janeiro, were also invited to take part in this deal.

Petrobras (BVMF: ptr3, PETR4, PBRA; BMAD: XPBR, XPBRA; NYSE: PBR, PBRA), which hired Banco Itaú BBA as an advisor in this transaction, scheduled submission of proposal for 17 July 2015.

Petrobras may have removed from its offer Gaspetro's stakes in Gás TransBoliviano, Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil, Transportadora Nortebrasileira de Gás, Transportadora do Meio Norte, Transportadora Sul Brasileira, Gemini Project and ICC project.

Além da japonesa Mitsui & Co (TSE:803) e do Grupo brasileiro Cemig (BVMF:CMIG4; NYSE:CIG), também estariam interessados pelos 49% de participação na Gaspetro, a japonesa Marubeni Corporation (TSE:8002), a japona Itochu (TSE:8001), a chinesa Beijing Gas, a francesa Engie (ex. GDF Suez) (Euronext Brussels:GDF;Euronext Paris:GDF), e a espanhola Gas Natural (BME:GAS), publicou o Valor Econômico em 26 de junho de 2015.

As empresas brasileiras Cosan (BVMF:CSAN3) e a Gávea Investimentos, private equity com sede no Rio de Janeiro, também teriam sido convidadas para participação da operação.

A Petrobras (BVMF: PTR3, PETR4, PBRA; BMAD: XPBR, XPBRA; NYSE: PBR, PBRA), que contratou o Banco Itaú BBA para assessorar a transação, marcou a entrega das propostas para o dia 17 de julho de 2015.

A empresa petrolífera brasileira teria retirado da oferta as participações que a Gaspetro detém na Gás TransBoliviano, Transportadora Brasileira Gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil, Transportadora Nortebrasileira de Gás, Transportadora do Meio Norte, Transportadora Sul Brasileira, projeto Gemini e ICC.
