Synopsis

The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Colombia and South Korea will go into effect on 15 July, reported El Espectador on 13 July 2016, citing Colombian minister of commerce, industry, and tourism, María Claudia Lacouture.

Lacouture noted the agreement provides Colombia with the opportunity to take advantage of its strengths in agroindustry, given South Korea's importing tendency.

President of Colombia's national association of foreign trade (Analdex) Javier Díaz added the FTA could also be the opportunity for Colombia to penetrate the Asian market.

El Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) entre Colombia y Corea del Sur ha entrado en vigencia el 15 de julio, ha publicado El Espectador el 13 de julio de 2016, citando a la ministra de Comercio, Industria y Turismo de Colombia, María Claudia Lacouture.

Lacouture ha señalado que el tratado le brinda a Colombia la oportunidad de aprovechar sus fortalezas en la agroindustria, dada la tendencia importadora de Corea del Sur.

Javier Díaz, presidente de la Asociación Nacional de Comercio Exterior (Analdex), ha añadido que el TLC también puede ser la oportunidad para que Colombia penetre el mercado asiático.
