Minister of Economy of Spain, Luis de Guindos, said the Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB) considers to publicly list Spain-based Banco Mare Nostrum (BMN), in which it holds 65% of the capital. However, he stated FROB would not sell its stake in this transaction, as reported by newspaper Expansión on 16 June 2015.

The objective of this possible IPO, is to offer greater liquidity to private institutional investors.

El ministro de Economía de España, Luis de Guindos, ha señalado que el Fondo de Reestructuración Ordenada Bancaria (FROB) se plantea sacar a Bolsa a la entidad española Banco Mare Nostrum (BMN), de la que controla un 65%, aunque ha precisado que no vendería su participación en la operación, según ha reportado el diario Expansión el 16 de junio de 2015.

El objetivo de la potencial salida a Bolsa de Banco Mare Nostrum (BMN) sería dar mayor liquidez a los inversores privados institucionales de la compañía.
