Petróleos Mexicanos, a Mexico-based state-owned oil company, is said to be in talks with US-based oil companies ExxonMobil (NYSE:XOM) and Chevron (NYSE:CVX) to develop deepwater oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico, reported El Financiero on 19 May, 2016. Pemex may also be launching talks with Norway-based Statoil (Oslo Børs:STO), according to officials who wished to remain anonymous.
