The European Parliament approved the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Ecuador with 544 votes in favor, reported La República on 14 December 2016. Specifically, the FTA would allow the elimination of almost all duties in the exchanges between European countries and Ecuador. Following the approval, the agreement becomes effective provisionally, given it must be ratified by each of the parliaments of the member countries of the European Union. With this treaty, Ecuador joins Colombia and Peru in a multiparty agreement with the European Union.

El Parlamento Europeo ha aprobado el Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) con Ecuador con 544 votos a favor, ha publicado La República el 14 de diciembre de 2016. En concreto, este tratado permitiría la eliminación casi total de los aranceles en los intercambios entre los países europeos y Ecuador. Tras esta aprobación, el acuerdo entra en vigencia provisionalmente, dado que debe ser ratificado por cada uno de los parlamentos de los países miembro de la Unión Europea. Con este tratado, Ecuador se une a Colombia y Perú en un acuerdo multipartito con la Unión Europea. |
