Synopsis

Eight domestic and foreign companies plan to bid in the tender to change electricity meters in central Mexico launched by the country’s federal electricity commission (CFE), reported El Financiero on 23 June, 2015, without citing company sources.

Among the tenders announced by the CFE on 22 June (see related intel) are nine projects to change electricity meters in the states of Campeche, Chiapas, Distrito Federal, Estado de México, Morelos, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tabasco, and Veracruz.

The goal of the tender is to stop electricity theft by replacing analog meters with digital units that function with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

The eight CFE-certified bidders are General Electric, Siemens, IUSA, Schneider Electric, Itron, Landis+Gyr, CONYMED, and Arteche, the report noted.

The nine projects are together worth USD 729m.

Ocho empresas locales y extranjeras buscan participar en la licitación para cambiar los medidores de electricidad en la región central de México lanzada por la Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), ha publicado El Financiero el 23 de junio de 2015, sin citar fuentes de las empresas.

Entre las licitaciones anunciadas por la CFE el 22 de junio (ver intel relacionado) se encuentran nueve proyectos para cambiar los medidores de electricidad en los estados de Campeche, Chiapas, Distrito Federal, Estado de México, Morelos, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tabasco y Veracruz.

El objetivo de la licitación es poner freno al robo de electricidad mediante el reemplazo de los medidores análogos por digitales que funcionan con la tecnología Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).

Las ocho empresas ya certificadas por la CFE son General Electric, Siemens, IUSA, Schneider Electric, Itron, Landis+Gyr, CONYMED y Arteche, según ha reportado.

Los nueve proyectos están valuados en USD 729m.
