El Gobierno de Ecuador busca un socio estadounidense para que invierta en la ampliación de la entidad estatal Unión Cementera Nacional, empresa fruto de la fusión de las compañías Cemento Chimborazo e Industrias Guapán, habiendo adquirido esta última en julio de 2013. El nuevo socio pasará a convertirse en accionista mayoritario y deberá invertir al menos USD 150m en el diseño de la ampliación, construcción y operación de la planta para lograr elevar la producción de cemento a 8 toneladas anuales. |
