El Gobierno de Cuba pretende privatizar la estatal CubaTaxi para intentar incentivar la economía de la isla. De llevarse a cabo la operación, la compañía pasaría a convertirse en una empresa privada en la que los taxistas trabajarían como autónomos.

Además, las autoridades cubanas están estudiando la posibilidad de privatizar también empresas de peluquería así como restaurantes y otros pequeños negocios.
