Intel ID : 244107
Synopsis

Brazil's Postal and Telegraph Company (ECT) plans to divest non-core assets to avoid negative results in 2017, after a loss of BRL 2bn in 2016, reported the company's president Guilherme Campos in an interview to Reuters on 6 January 2017.

The assets include the university campus in Brasilia and the company's headquarters buildings in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

The state-owned company wants to increase its revenues and is also considering expanding its franchise network and offering more services such as medicines delivery through the public health system and a partnership with an airline for the express delivery service.
