Colombia and Cuba signed a trade agreement to expand their economic relations, as published through a statement issued by Colombia's Presidency Office on June 17, 2016.

Specifically, the agreement will ease Colombia's exports, namely of 2,032 items, to Cuba with tariff preference under an economic complementary agreement in force since 2001, to be increased by another 2,518 products. These products include meat, cocoa, oil, processed coffee products, fruit and fish, as well as textile and apparel, car engines, soap and cosmetics, leather, house appliances, footwear, toys, steel and construction material, among others.

Colombia y Cuba han firmado un acuerdo de profundización comercial que les permitirá ampliar sus relaciones económicas, según ha señalado en un comunicado la Presidencia de la República de Colombia el 17 de junio de 2016.

En concreto, el convenio facilitará que a los 2.032 bienes que Colombia exporta a Cuba con preferencia arancelaria en virtud de un acuerdo de complementación económica vigente desde el 2001 se sumen otros 2.518 productos. Entre los productos incluidos se encuentran carne, cacao, oleaginosas, preparaciones de café, frutas y pescado, así como textiles y confecciones, automotores, jabones y cosméticos, cueros, electrodomésticos, calzados, juguetes, artículos de la siderurgia y materiales de construcción, entre otros.
