Codelco (BCS:CODELCO), a Chilean state-owned copper producer, is considering the possibility of entering the Ecuadorian and Peruvian markets, as published by América Economía on 1 March 2016, citing the director of Metals and Mining Consulting unit of Wood Mackenzie, Alex Bevacqua. Specifically, Bevacqua said Codelco is currently studying this possible international expansion as part of the change in its strategy. Codelco, prefers Peru and Ecuador due to the closeness of these countries and its competitiveness in costs.

Codelco (BCS:CODELCO), productora chilena estatal de cobre, ha estudiado la posibilidad de ingresar al mercado ecuatoriano y peruano, según ha informado América Economía el 1 de marzo de 2016, citando al director de la unidad de Metals and Mining Consulting de Wood Mackenzie, Alex Bevacqua. En concreto, Bevacqua ha afirmado que Codelco ya se encuentra en estudios acerca de una posible internacionalización como cambio de la estrategia de negocios de la minera. En ese sentido, Codelco ha tenido como preferencia a Perú y Ecuador por su cercanía geográfica y por su competitividad en costos. |
