Until now, Ports Legislation required an auction prior to expanding the terminals in contiguous areas. This law has been changed and this obligation was removed, which facilitates combining areas and consequently also its lease, since the area will be larger, as published by newspaper Valor Econômico on 22 June 2015. The new Ports Act was published at the same time as the announcement of certain infrastructure concessions. One of the companies that has recognized the importance of the new law was Brazil-based Log-In, a shipping company, through declaration from its president Vital Lopes. For quite some time, the company had planned to develop an expansion project.

A Lei de Portos que até agora exigia a prévia licitação para poder realizar uma expansão de terminais em áreas contiguas, sofreu uma mudança que removeu essa obrigação facilitando a anexação de áreas e em consequência também seu arrendamento ao obter uma dimensão maior, segundo publicou o Valor Econômico no dia 22 de junho de 2015. A nova Lei de Portos foi divulgada ao mesmo tempo que foram comunicadas certas concessões de infraestrutura. Uma das companhias que já reconheceu a importância da nova regra, através das declarações do seu presidente Vital Lopes foi a empresa brasileira de navegação doméstica (cabotagem) Log-In que já há algum tempo tinha planejado desenvolver um projeto de expansão. |
