The board of directors of Telefónica (BME:TEF), a Spain-based telecoms company, will study the appointment of José María Álvarez-Pallete as the new executive president of the company in a meeting to be held on 8 April, announced Telefónica in a filing published by regulator Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores on 29 March, 2016. The proposal comes from César Alierta, the current executive president, who is stepping down after 16 years in the position. Alierta will continue to be part of the board and will stay as executive president of Fundación Telefónica.

El Consejo de Administración de Telefónica (BME:TEF) estudiará el nombramiento de José María Álvarez-Pallete como nuevo presidente ejecutivo de la compañía en la reunión del 8 de abril, según ha informado Telefónica en un hecho relevante remitido a la Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores el 29 de marzo de 2016. La propuesta parte de César Alierta, actual presidente ejecutivo, que deja el cargo tras casi 16 años en el mismo. César Alierta seguirá formando parte del Consejo de Administración de la compañía, y mantendrá el cargo de Presidente Ejecutivo de Fundación Telefónica. |
