Carnival Corporation (NYSE:CCL, CUK; LSE:CCL), a Miami, Florida-based cruise ships operator, announced it will arrive in Cuba in May, 2016, with its fathom brand in a press release issued on 7 July, 2015.

Carnival Corporation received authorization from the US Department of the Treasury and of Commerce to travel to Cuba, but it is still in talks with Cuban authorities to receive their approval.

Carnival plans to operate week-long journeys under its fathom brand, which specializes in impact travel experiences. Impact travel is aimed at the exchange of cultural, humanitarian, and social exchanges between travelers and locals.

fathom was launched on 4 June, 2015. Starting April, 2016, it will operate journeys to the Dominican Republic.

Carnival Corporation ha recibido la autorización del departamento del tesoro y el departamento de comercio de Estados Unidos, pero aún está en tratativas para recibir la aprobación de las autoridades cubanas pertinentes.

Carnival planea operar viajes de una semana con su marca fathom, especializada en turismo de impacto ("impact travel"). El turismo de impacto consiste en intercambios culturales, humanitarios y sociales entre viajeros y locales.

fathom fue inaugurada el 4 de junio de 2015. A partir de abril de 2016, operará viajes a la República Dominicana.
