JBS (BVMF:JBSS3), Brazil-based meatpacker, is planning a U.S. initial public offering of its JBS Foods International unit on New York Stock Exchange in the first half of 2017, according to a Relevant Fact published on 5 December 2016. Earlier this year, the company announced a plan to spin off its international businesses into a new company. JBS had to cancel that plan after the Brazilian State Development Bank (BNDES), which owns a significant stake in the meat packer, rejected the proposal. According to the relevant fact, JBS will retain control of the new unit and will continue to manage and control the company’s Brazilian beef unit operations. JBS Foods International will be based in Netherlands.

A JBS (BVMF:JBSS3), empresa brasileira do setor alimentício, fará uma oferta pública inicial de ações da subsidiária JBS Foods International na bolsa de Nova York (NYSE), de acordo com Fato Relevante publicado em 5 de dezembro de 2016. A ação é uma tentativa de contornar o veto do Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES) à reorganização societária que a JBS havia anunciado em maio (ver intels relacionados). No novo modelo, a JBS no Brasil será a controladora da JBS Foods International, que terá sua sede na Holanda. A expectativa da JBS é que o IPO da subsidiária seja concluído ao longo do primeiro semestre de 2017. |
