Barrick Gold, a Toronto-based mining company, is selling its stake in its Zaldívar copper mine located in Chile as part of its effort to reduce its debt by USD 3bn by the end of 2015, the company reported on Monday, 27 April in its 1Q15 results. The report stated the company has begun the sale process for its stake in the Zaldívar copper mine and noted the mine is a consistently strong performer located in the best copper mining region in the world.
