Barclays prepara venda do negócio de banca de retalho em Portugal

O Barclays Bank vai colocar à venda o seu negócio de banca de retalho em Portugal, bem como noutros países do sul da Europa, como Espanha, Itália e França. A medida faz parte de um radical esforço de redução de custos por parte da instituição financeira britânica. O Barclays realizou em 2013 uma reestruturação das suas operações em Portugal na área da banca de retalho. Recorde-se que essa operação passou pelo encerramento de cerca de 100 agências da instituição no País e a redução de cerca de 300 trabalhadores. À data, o banco que entrou em Portugal no ano de 1981 empregava um total de dois mil trabalhadores. |
