Controllers of Bank BVA, currently facing extrajudicial liquidation since mid-2013, contacted Banco BTG Pactual to propose the sale of the bankrupt entity to the bank. This would not be an unprecedented deal for BTG. In July, the competition authority Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica (CADE) approved the acquisition of Bamerindus, facing extrajudicial liquidation since 1998.
