Banco Santander (BME:SAN), a Spain-based financial institution, is said to have retained Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) as advisor to analyze the acquisition of the retail banking and credit card units of Citigroup (NYSE:C) in Brazil, reported Bloomberg on 29 August 2016, citing sources familiar with the matter. According to the report, the retail banking and credit card units of Citigroup in Brazil would be worth approximately USD 450m and, according to a report published on 19 August (see related intel), Santander may have also retained Credit Suisse to advise on the acquisition of the business unit and Lazard to advise on the acquisition of the retail banking and credit card units of Citigroup in Argentina. However, it has not bid for Citigroup's retail banking subsidiary in Colombia. Since February 2016, other banks have also shown interest in the assets in both countries (see related intel).

Banco Santander (BME: SAN), entidad financiera con sede en España, habría contratado a Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) como asesor para analizar la compra de los activos del banco minorista de tarjetas de crédito de Citigroup (NYSE:C) en Brasil, según ha informado Bloomberg el 29 de agosto de 2016, citando a fuentes cercanas al asunto. De acuerdo con la información, los activos minoristas de Citigroup en Brasil estarían valorados en USD 450m aproximadamente y, según información revelada el 19 de agosto de 2016 (Ver Intels relacionados), Santander también habría contratado a Credit Suisse para recibir asesoramiento para la adquisición de la línea de negocio y a Lazard para asesorar la operación de la banca minorista de Citigroup en Argentina. No obstante, no habría presentado una oferta por la filial de Citigroup en Colombia. De acordo com a publicação, os ativos do Citigroup no Brasil estão valorados em aproximadamente USD 450m, segundo foi divulgado em 19 de agosto de 2016 (Ver Intels relacionados). O Banco Santander também teria contratado ao Credit Suisse para receber assessoramento sobre a aquisição do negócio e a Lazard teria sido contratada para assessorar a operação banco de varejo do Citigroup na Argentina.
