Banco BTG Pactual (BVMF:BPAC3), a Brazil-based financial entity, is said to be close to selling subsidiary BSI Bank, based in Ticino, Switzerland, to Switzerland-based private banking group EFG International (SWX:EFGN), reported Financial Times on 19 January, 2016, citing sources familiar with the transaction. According to the report, EFG International submitted the highest bid for BSI Bank and could enter exclusive talks with Banco BTG Pactual (BVMF:BPAC3). The transaction would value the Swiss bank in CHF 1.2bn. If it succeeds, it would speed up the consolidation of the Swiss banking sector. Other bidders are said to be Switzerland-based bank UBS (SWX:UBSN; NYSE:UBS), in consortium with Investindustrial, a Luxembourg-based private equity firm, and a group of canton banks, led by BancaStato (see related intel), the report stated. Switzerland-based financial entities Julius Baer Group and J Safra Sarasin Group may have also submitted bids, as well as an unidentified Chinese bank.

Banco BTG Pactual (BVMF:BPAC3), entidad financiera brasileña, estaría por vender su filial BSI Bank, con sede en Ticino, Suiza, al grupo suizo de banca privada EFG International (SWX:EGN), ha publicado Financial Times el 19 de enero de 2016, citando fuentes con conocimiento de la transacción. Según lo publicado, EFG International habría presentado la oferta más alta por BSI Bank y entraría en negociaciones exclusivas con Banco BTG Pactual (BVMF:BPAC3). La transacción valuaría el banco suizo en CHF 1.200m. De ser exitosa, aceleraría la consolidación del sector bancario suizo.
