The owner of IECSA, an Argentina-based real estate project developer, Ángelo Calcaterra, is said to have begun the process to sell the company, for which it has retained financial advisory firm MBA Lazard, reported La Nación on 5 May, 2016, citing people close to Calcaterra.

According to the report, the sale of IECSA follows Calcaterra's wish to avoid incompatibilities in public tenders, given the businessman is the cousin of Argentine president, Mauricio Macri.

There are four foreign companies interested in the acquisition, the report stated.

El dueño de IECSA, empresa argentina dedicada al desarrollo de proyectos inmobiliarios, Ángelo Calcaterra, habría iniciado la venta de la empresa, para lo que habría contratado a la firma de asesoramiento financiero, MBA Lazard, ha publicado La Nación el 5 de mayo de 2016, citando a allegados de Calcaterra.

Según lo publicado, la venta de IECSA estaría motivada por el deseo de Calcaterra de evitar incompatibilidades en licitaciones públicas, dado que el empresario es el primo del presidente argentino, Mauricio Macri.

De acuerdo con la información, habría cuatro empresas extranjeras interesadas en la adquisición.
