Alibaba (NYSE:BABA), a China-based platform specializing in e-commerce, may be interested in acquiring a stake of 23% in Grupo Imagina, a Spain-based media group, reported El Confidencial on 29 November 2016, citing sources familiar with the matter. Torreal, a Spain-based private equity firm owned by the Abelló family, which is said to be seeking a buyer for its 23% stake since September 2016 (see related intel), decided to open a competitive process of around EUR 500m with industrial companies from the telecommunications sector, private equity firms, and various Asian groups. Other interested companies may be Citic Private Equity, a subsidiary of Citic, Vivendi (Euronext Paris:VIV), Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LMCA), Telefónica (BME:TEF), CVC Capital Partners, and Apax Partners, among others.

Torreal, firma de private equity española y propiedad de la familia Abelló, el cual estaría buscando comprador para su participación del 23% en Grupo Imagina desde septiembre de 2016 (ver Intel relacionado), ha decidido abrir un proceso competitivo que ronda los EUR 500m con compañías industriales del sector de las telecomunicaciones, firmas de private equity y varios grupos asiáticos.
