Advent, an investment fund, may invest up to BRL 900m to acquire assets that Kroton Educacional (BVMF: KROT3) will have to sell to approve the merger with Estácio Participações (BVMF: ESTC11) on the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (see related transaction ), reported Exame on 24 December 2016, citing a report published by Estadão.

In March 2015, Advent acquired the Centro Universitário da Serra Gaúcha. The fund also acquired Cesuca for BRL 50m (see related transactions). The businesses have a total of 13,000 students. Advent would be in negotiations with institutions from other regions in Brazil, including advanced conversations with a Northeastern group.
