La concesionaria española Abertis está estudiando pujar por la empresa italiana de infraestructuras de comunicaciones TowerCo, perteneciente a la gestora de autopistas Atlantia, con la que Abertis estuvo a punto de integrarse años atrás.

TowerCo tiene una cesta de 300 torres de telefonía móvil, alquiladas a distintos operadores y repartidas por los casi 3.000 kilómetros de carreteras que Atlantia opera en Italia. En 2012, la empresa facturó EUR 19,6m, su Ebitda es de EUR 11,6m y el beneficio alcanzó los EUR 5,3m.
