US-based AT&T, announced that at the moment it is not interested in acquiring assets put up for sale by Mexican telephone company América Móvil, as they are not strategic, but could be reaching an agreement with NII Holdings to acquire a stake in its Mexican telecommunications subsidiary Nextel. The announcement was made after AT&T's acquisition of lusacell, although they do not rule out possibly expanding the business in Mexico through América Móvil.

La compañía estadounidense AT&T ha anunciado que de momento no estaría interesada en la adquisición de los activos que la compañía telefónica mexicana América Móvil ha puesto a la venta en el país por no considerarlos estratégicos, pero sí busca llegar a un acuerdo con NII Holdings para adquirir los activos de telefonía de su filial Nextel en México. El anuncio se efectúa tras la compra de Iusacell por parte de AT&T, aunque esta no descarta en un futuro poder interesarse por la ampliación de su negocio mexicano a través de América Móvil. |
