September brought back "normality" to the Spanish transactional, following a predictably slow month of August. Private equity investments were one of the month's highlights, with some 15 registered deals. Also worthy of note was the cancellation of the EUR 400m agreement between the Spanish Alfonso Gallardo group and Brazilian Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN), by which the Spanish group was going to sell its stake in Corrugados Azpeitia, Corrugados Lasao, Cementos Balboa, Stahlwerk Thüringen  and Gallardo Sections.

The Portuguese transactional market, in September, was particularly active, with some 30 registered deals. The privatisation of State-owned power company EDP has generated several bids from major international players. Other highlights include the EUR 9,4m acquisition of US-based technology company Current by a consortium involving Espírito Santo Ventures, as well as the IPO of Portuguese technology company Biopremier in the Frankfurt stock Exchange.
