SPAIN
The Spanish transactional market, in April, registered a 5% decrease in number of deals, compared to the previous three months. Nevertheless, the transactional activity was relevant, with several companies searching for investments and intense cross-border dynamism; both Spanish companies looking beyond borders and foreign investors entering Spain.

PORTUGAL
The Portuguese transactional market was less dynamic during April than in previous months. Among the highlighted deals, Banco Espírito Santo acquired a 50% stake in BES Vida, held by France-based Crédit Agricole. The deal value was EUR 225m. In addition, private equity firm ECS Capital acquired Biovegetal; and BES as well as Espírito Santo Financial Group made capital increases.
