West Sea, controlled by Grupo Martifer, through its president Carlos Martins announced the company's intention to acquire a stake in an African shipyard, following its international expansion strategy. This information was published by newspaper Jornal Economico on 27 May 2015. "2016 will the internationalization year. However, we think that this year we may announce our entrance in shipyard management segment in an African country" said Martins, reported by Jornal Economico. West Sea is a shipyard located in Viana do Castelo, northern Portugal. Founded by Martifer group in 2013, the company is sub-concessionaire of land and infrastructure held by former Estaleiros de Viana do Castelo (ENVC).

A West Sea, propriedade do Grupo Martifer, através de seu presidente Carlos Martins, anunciou a intenção de adquirir participação em estaleiro no continente africano, corroborando com a estratégia de internacionalização da empresa portuguesa. A notícia foi dada ao Jornal Economico em 27 de maio de 2015. "O ano da internacionalização será 2016. No entanto, pensamos que ainda este ano poderemos anunciar a entrada na gestão de um estaleiro num país do continente africano", foram as palavras de Martins à publicação. A West Sea é um estaleiro naval localizado em Viana do Castelo, Norte de Portugal. Fundada pelo grupo Martifer, em 2013, a empresa é a atual subconcessionária dos terrenos e infraestruturas dos antigos Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo (ENVC). |
