Synopsis

Viva Air Perú, a Lima-based airline and subsidiary of VivaColombia, received permission from the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Peru to launch its operations in the country, announced the company in a press release issued on 4 February 2017.

Specifically, the airline will launch operations starting April 2017 with 12 routes nationwide.

Viva Air Perú was created by VivaColombia's parent company Irelandia Aviation, which announced in December 2016 a plan to launch operations in 2H17 between April and June (see related intel).

Viva Air Perú, aerolínea con sede en Lima y filial de VivaColombia, ha recibido el permiso por parte del Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones de Perú para el inicio de operaciones en el país, según ha informado la compañía en un comunicado de prensa el 4 de febrero de 2017.

En concreto, la aerolínea podrá iniciar a partir de abril de 2017, y operará en doce rutas a nivel nacional.

Viva Air Perú ha sido creada por la matriz de VivaColombia, la aerolínea irlandesa Irelandia Aviation, la cual ha anunciado en diciembre de 2016 su plan de iniciar operaciones en el segundo trimestre de 2017, entre abril y junio (ver Intel relacionado).
