Total (Euronext Paris:TOT), a France-based power distributor, is interested in oil exploration in Uruguay's waters, reported El Diario on 5 August, 2015. The exploration will be carried out between March and May 2016 in an area of Uruguay's sea platform located 400 km from Montevideo. It will require an investment of USD 150m to USD 200m, financed by the French company. The well has a 3,400-meter water column, which is the distance between the surface and the seabed. From there, the company will drill up to 3,000 meters deep.

La empresa francesa Total (Euronext Paris:TOT) ha mostrado su interés por la búsqueda de petróleo en aguas uruguayas, según ha informado El Diario el 5 de agosto de 2015. Los trabajos se realizarán entre marzo y mayo de 2016 en una zona de la plataforma marítima uruguaya ubicada a 400 kilómetros de Montevideo y supondrán una inversión de entre USD 150m y USD 200m financiados por la petrolera francesa. El pozo presentará 3.400 metros de columna de agua, es decir la distancia comprendida entre la superficie y el lecho oceánico, y desde allí se perforará hasta una profundidad de algo menos de 3.000 metros. |
