| Petrobras (BVMF:PTR3, PETR4, PBRA; BMAD:XPBR, XPBRA; NYSE:PBR, PBRA), a Brazilian state-owned power company, could be negotiating the sale of a 36% stake in Brazilian petrochemical company Braskem (BVMF:BRKM3, BRKM5, BRKM6) to Saudi Arabia-based Saudi Aramco, as published by newspaper Estadão on 25 January 2016. According to the news, Saudi Aramco's interest for Braskem is old. Furthermore, a group o Chinese companies could also be interested in this acquisition. Petrobras may have hired Banco Bradesco as financial adviser. Canada-based Brookfield Asset Management and a British firm, whose identity was not disclosed, could be other potential buyers.
