PortAventura, a Spain-based theme park worth EUR 1bn, could be on the block, reported El Economista on 23 February 2017.

The park's current owners are US-based private equity firm KKR, with a 49.9% stake, and Luxembourg-based Investindustrial, with the rest of the equity. Though both firms declared there is no open sale process, different sources assert they are looking for potential buyers.

Since the entry of both funds, PortAventura sales have increased by 38.2%, with a turnover of EUR 193.9m in 2015. Currently, the leisure complex is comprised of a theme park, 51 stores, 47 restaurants, a water sports park, a golf course, five themed hotels, and a convention center.

El parque de ocio PortAventura, valorado en EUR 1.000m, podría estar en venta, según ha informado El Economista el 23 de febrero de 2017.

Sus actuales propietarios son la firma de private equity estadounidense, KKR, con un 49,9% del accionariado, y la luxemburguesa Investindustrial, con el resto del capital. Pese a que ambas firmas aseguran que no existe un proceso abierto de venta, diferentes fuentes afirman que estarían buscando posibles compradores.

Desde la entrada de ambos fondos las ventas de PortAventura han aumentado un 38,2%, con una facturación de EUR 193,9m en 2015. Actualmente el complejo de ocio cuenta con el parque temático, 51 tiendas, 47 puntos de restauración, un parque acuático, un campo de golf, cinco hoteles temáticos y un centro de convenciones.
