Pemex, a Mexico-based state-owned oil company, will submit its first alliance with a private company (farmout) for the analysis of its board of directors, reported Reuters México on 9 June, 2016, citing the managing director of hydrocarbon exploration and extraction of Mexico's department of energy (Sener), Marco Cota.

Cota noted Pemex will take the issue to its board this week. Specifically, the aim of the farmout will be the development of deepwater projects in the Perdido area of the Gulf of Mexico.

Cota added the plan is that the tender of the farmout should be carried out simultaneously with the tender of the fourth stage of Ronda 1, scheduled for 5 December, which includes 10 deepwater blocks in the Cinturón Plegado Perdido (CCP) region.

Pemex, petrolera estatal mexicana, presentará para análisis de su consejo de administración su primera alianza con una empresa privada (farmout), ha publicado Reuters México el 9 de junio de 2016, citando al director general de exploración y extracción de hidrocarburos de la Secretaría de Energía (Sener), Marco Cota.

Cota ha señalado que se llevará el tema al consejo esta semana. En concreto, el objetivo de este farmout será desarrollar proyectos en aguas profundas en la zona de Perdido del Golfo de México.

Cota ha agregado que la idea es que la licitación del farmout se realice simultaneamente con la licitación de la cuarta convocatoria de la Ronda 1, programada para el 5 de diciembre, que incluye 10 áreas en aguas profundas del Cinturón Plegado Perdido (CCP).
