Mexico to launch Ronda 2 of oil tenders in July

The department of energy (Sener) of Mexico announced the launch of the first stage of the second round (Ronda 2) of oil tenders will be before the end of July 2016, in a press release issued on 8 June, 2016. Specifically, the first stage will be comprised of 15 exploration and extraction blocks in shallow waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Afterwards, the second stage will be published, which will include 14 land blocks in the basin of Burgos, and of south-eastern Mexico. The secretary of energy, Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, also announced the fourth stage of Ronda 1, comprised of deepwater blocks, will be carried out on 5 December.

La Secretaría de Energía (Sener) ha anunciado el lanzamiento de la primera convocatoria de la Ronda 2 de licitaciones petroleras antes de fines de julio de 2016, en una nota de prensa publicada el 8 de junio de 2016. En concreto, esta primera convocatoria estará compuesta por 15 bloques de exploración y extracción en aguas someras del Golfo de México. Posteriorment, se publicará la segunda etapa, que incluirá 14 bloques terrestres en las cuencas de Burgos y del sudeste de México. El secretario de energía, Pedro Joaquín Coldwell, también ha anunciado que la cuarta etapa de la Ronda 1, compuesta por bloques en aguas profundas, se llevará a cabo el 5 de diciembre |
