A empresa petrolífera australiana Karoon Gas Australia, que tem uma subsidiária no Brasil, poderá vender parte de sua participação em projetos no Brasil para sustentar os investimentos, segundo publicou o Valor Econômico em 18 de setembro de 2015, citando ao Diretor-Geral da Karoon na América do Sul, Tim Hosking.

De acordo com o Executivo, "Nossa intenção é ficar com uma fatia de 40% a 45% nos projetos". Segundo ele, a empresa deverá concluir a venda de uma participação no segundo semestre de 2016.

A empresa detém 65% nos blocos em que opera em conjunto com a Pacific Rubiales, dona dos outros 35%.
