International Finance Corporation, an organization held by World Bank specializing in financing projects, would be selling its stake of 4.6% on a iron ore project in Guinea, reported Reuters on October 10, 2016, citing a company press release. According to it, the IFC has exercised a put option, which it has held since 2006 to require Rio Tinto and Chinalco to buy their stake in the project. The International Finance Corporation works in this project with the Britain-based Rio Tinto, which has a stake of 46.6%, with China-based Chinalco, that has 41.3%, and the Guinea government, which has 7.5%.

De acordo com a notícia, a International Finance Corporation exerceu a opção de venda, que têm desde 2006, para exigir que a Rio Tinto e Chinalco comprem sua participação no projeto.
