Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo (IPM), a state-owned decentralised organization, engaged in research for oil exploitation in Mexico, seeks budgetary autonomy and wants to stop depending on state-owned oil company Pemex, reported El Economista on 24 August, 2015.

IPM is Pemex's technology and research branch of and is currently planning to migrate to a production company.

IPM general manager, Ernesto Ríos Patrón, noted the company will continue to create national capacities and will also make the necessary changes to adapt to the current market environment.

El Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo (IPM), organismo público descentralizado, dedicado a las investigaciones para la realización de la explotación petrolífera en México, busca la autonomía presupuestaria y quiere dejar de depender de Pemex, según ha publicado el periódico El Economista el 24 de agosto de 2015.

Es el brazo tecnológico y de investigación de Pemex y desde ahora se plantea migrar a una empresa productiva.

El director general del Instituto Mexicano del Petróleo (IPM), Ernesto Ríos Patrón, declaró que seguirán creando capacidades nacionales, además de hacer los cambios necesarios para adaptarse al actual entorno del mercado.
