Avangrid, a US-based subsidiary of Iberdrola (BME:IBE), is studying the sale of its natural gas storage business in the United States, reported El Economista on 28 February 2017, citing Avangrid CEO Jim Torgerson. In 2016, the company recorded losses of USD 40m for these storage facilities and estimates the business could continue generating losses if maintained. Iberdrola already sold these facilities when it entered the country with the acquisition of Energy East. At that time, the buyer was UIL, currently Avangrid, after merging with Iberdrola EEUU.

La filial estadounidense de Iberdrola (BME:IBE), Avangrid, estudia la venta del negocio de almacenamiento de gas natural en Estaos Unidos, según ha informado El Economista el 28 de febrero de 2017, citando al consejero delegado de Avangrid, Jim Torgerson. En 2016 la compañía registró unas pérdidas de USD 40m por dichos almacenes y calcula que el negocio podría seguir arrojando pérdidas si lo mantiene. Iberdrola ya vendió estos almacenes cuando entró en el país con la adquisición de Energy East. En aquel momento, el comprador fue UIL, actualmente Avangrid tras fusionarse con Iberdrola EEUU. |
