Synopsis

Ecopetrol (BVC:ECOPETROL; NYSE:EC; TSX:ECP), a Colombia-based state-owned oil company, announced the government of Colombia extended the divestment program of the stake Ecopetrol holds in Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB) (BVC:EEB), in a filing published by regulator Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia on 27 December 2016.

Specifically, the decree establishes the program to divest 28,465,035 common shares, equivalent to 0.3% of EEB, will be extended for one more year, starting 31 December 2016. The resources will be used for the financing of Ecopetrol's investment plan.

Currently, Ecopetrol holds 0.94% of EEB and the controlling shareholder is the government of Bogota, with a 76.28% stake, which also announced the sale of 20% of its shares (see related intel).

Ecopetrol (BVC:ECOPETROL; NYSE:EC; TSX:ECP), petrolera estatal colombiana, ha anunciado que el gobierno de Colombia ha prorrogado el programa de enajenación de la participación accionaria que Ecopetrol tiene en la Empresa de Energía de Bogotá (EEB) (BVC:EEB), según ha informado Ecopetrol en un hecho relevante remitido a la Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia el 27 de diciembre de 2016.

En concreto, el decreto establece que prorrogará por un año más, contado a partir del 31 de diciembre de 2016, el término de vigencia del Programa de Enajenación de
28.465.035 acciones ordinarias, equivalentes al 0.3% de las acciones suscritas y pagadas y los recursos serán utilizados para la financiación de su plan de inversiones.

En la actualidad, Ecopetrol posee el 0,94% de la propiedad accionaria de EEB y el principal accionista es el gobierno de Bogotá, con un 76.28% y actualmente ha anunciado vender un 20% de la participación accionaria (ver Intels relacionados).
