Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM), a Colombia-based state-owned provider of water, gas, and power services, launched the sale process of its 13.14% stake in Colombia-based Isagén (BVC:ISAGEN), announced the company in a filing published by regulator Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia on 4 April, 2016. In this initial stage of the divestment, EPM will offer the shares to active, retired, and former workers of Isagén; associations of employees and former employees of the company; worker unions; federations and confederations of worker unions; employee funds; mutual investment funds; pension and unemployment funds; cooperatives; and family compensation funds. The offer will be open for a two-month period, until 4 June. The price per share is USD 1.36. At the same time, Isagén's largest shareholder, Canada-based investment fund Brookfield Asset Management (TSX:BAM.A, NYSE:BAM, Euronext:BAMA), is carrying out a PTO to acquire the remaining shares of the company (see related transaction). The deadline of the PTO is 6 May.

Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM), prestadora estatal colombiana de servicios de agua, gas y electricidad, ha iniciado el proceso de venta de su participación del 13,14% en la colombiana Isagén (BVC:ISAGEN), ha anunciado la empresa en un hecho relevante publicado por la Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia el 4 de abril de 2016. En esta primera etapa de la enajenación, EPM ofrecerá las acciones a trabajadores activos, pensionados y extrabajadores de Isagén; asociaciones de empleados y exempleados de la empresa; sindicatos de trabajadores; federaciones y confederaciones de sindicatos de trabajadores; fondos de empleados; fondos mutuos de inversión; fondos de cesantías y de pensiones; entidades cooperativas; y cajas de compensación. La oferta tendrá una vigencia de dos meses, hasta el 4 de junio. El precio por acción es de USD 1,36. Paralelamente, el accionista mayoritario de Isagén, el fondo de inversión canadiense Brookfield Asset Management (TSX:BAM.A, NYSE:BAM, Euronext:BAMA), lleva a cabo una OPA para adquirir el resto de las acciones de la empresa (ver transacción relacionada). La fecha límite de la OPA es el 6 de mayo. |
