Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), based in the United States, will submit a request to the Government to offer non-stop flights to Cuba, as published by newspaper El Financiero on 16 February 2016, citing its vice-president for Latin America and Caribbean, Nicolás Ferri.

Specifically, the firm could offer up to 20 non-stop daily flights to Havana, and another 10 daily flights to nine cities in Cuba, which have international airports.

Delta expects that by summer the United States Department of Transportation will notify the airlines regarding the frequency and routes requested by airlines.

Up until now, Cuba and the United States signed an agreement to reestablish programmed passenger and cargo flights between the two countries. (see related intel)

Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL), aerolínea estadounidense, presentará una solicitud ante el Gobierno para proveer servicio sin escalas a Cuba, según ha informado El Financiero el 16 de febrero de 2016, citando al vicepresidente de Delta para América Latina y el Caribe, Nicolás Ferri.

En concreto, la firma podría ofrecer hasta un total de 20 vuelos diarios directos a La Habana, y otros 10 vuelos diarios a otras nueve ciudades en Cuba que cuenten con aeropuertos internacionales.

Delta espera que para el verano el Departamento de Transporte de Estados Unidos notifique las frecuencias y rutas asignadas a las líneas aéreas que han aplicado.

A la fecha, Cuba y Estados Unidos han firmado un acuerdo para restablecer vuelos programados de pasajeros y de carga entre los dos países. (Ver Intel relacionado).
