Chile-based Copec could be interested in acquiring copper mine Lomas Bayas held by Switzerland-based Glencore, for an amount ranging between USD 1.1bn and USD 1.5bn, as reported by newspaper Diario Financiero on 4 January 2016. Two investment funds, whose identities were not disclosed, may have submitted significant offers. This sale is part of Glencore's strategy to reduce its debt.

La empresa chilena Copec podría estar interesada en la adquisición de la mina de cobre Lomas Bayas propiedad de la suiza Glencore por un importe que oscilaría entre los USD 1.100m y los USD 1.500m, según ha reportado el Diario Financiero el 4 de enero de 2016. Dos fondos de inversión extranjeros cuyas identidades no han sido divulgadas podrían haber presentado sendas ofertas. La enajenación de Lomas Bayas se enmarca en el proceso de reducción de la deuda que mantiene Glencore. |
