Citic Private Equity, an investment subsidiary of China-based financial group Citic, could buy 51% of Spain-based audiovisual conglomerate Imagina Group, for EUR 2,000m, reported Financial Times on 25 October, 2016. Imagina is being advised by Citi and Lazard and, if no deal is reached with Citic PE, the company would start a public auction for the stake controlling on November. The Spain media group distributes internationally the country’s top football league, so this operation would be China's largest investment in sporting events transmissions abroad.

Citic Private Equity, filial de inversión del grupo financiero chino Citic, podría comprar el 51% del Grupo Imagina, conglomerado audiovisual español, por EUR 2.000m, según ha informado Financial Times el 25 de octubre de 2016. Imagina estaría siendo asesorada por Citi y Lazard y si el acuerdo con Citic PE no se formaliza, la empresa sacaría a subasta pública la participación de control a principios de noviembre. El grupo audiovisual español distribuye la Liga de fútbol española internacionalmente por lo que esta operación supondría la mayor inversión de China en derechos de emisión de eventos deportivos en el extranjero. |
