Brookfield Asset Management (TSX:BAM.A, NYSE:BAM, Euronext Amsterdam:BAMA), based in Toronto, Canada, and China Three Gorges and State Power Investment, based in Beijing, are said to be interested in the Latin American assets of US-based Duke Energy (NYSE:DUK), reported Bloomberg on 21 June, 2016, citing sources familiar with the matter. According to the report, the three entities might be considering bidding for Duke Energy's power generation assets, which are mostly located in Brazil, but also in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Peru. The sale of the assets could fetch over USD 2bn. In early February, Duke Energy announced the divestment of its Latin American assets (see related intel).

Según lo publicado, las tres entidades estarían considerando ofertas para los activos de generación eléctrica de Duke Energy, ubicados mayormente en Brasil, pero también en Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala y Perú. De acordo com a publicação, as três entidades estariam estudando realizar uma oferta para os ativos de geração elétrica da Duke Energy, localizados em sua maioria no Brasil, além da Argentina, Chile, Equador, El Salvador, Guatemala e Peru.
