Synopsis

The governments of Chile and Cuba met to strengthen trade relations between the countries, signing six bilateral agreements, reported Granma on 4 September, 2015.

Among the signed treaties is the expansion of customs duties for products included in the balance of trade and a memorandum of understanding between the ministries of health of both countries to promote cooperation in biotechnology and other areas.

The aim of the treaties is for Chile to be part of Cuba's opening process through the cooperation between the two countries.

Los gobiernos chileno y cubano se han reunido para afianzar las relaciones comerciales entre ambos países, firmando seis acuerdos de interés bilateral, según ha publicado el diario Granma el 4 de septiembre de 2015.

Entre los tratados que se firmaron se encuentran la am­pliación de preferencias arancelarias a productos incluidos en la balanza comercial, y la firma de un memorándum de entendimiento entre los ministerios de Salud de ambos países para fo­men­tar la cooperación en Biotecnología y otras áreas.

El objetivo de estos tratados es que Chile forme parte del proceso de apertura cubano a través de la cooperación de los dos países.
