UK-based Banco Santander UK, controlled by Spain-based Banco Santander (BME: SAN), could be interested in bidding for Williams & Glyn, a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), which holds 300 subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, as published by newspaper Expansión on 17 December 2015. Banco Santander UK was interested in this acquisition in 2010, but finally it did not materialize, because the bank considered Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) had not carried out the segregation process of 300 branches and assets. La empresa británica Banco Santander UK, controlada por la española Banco Santander (BME: SAN), podría estar interesada en pujar por Williams & Glyn, filial de Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) que agrupa 300 sucursales de la compañía en Reino Unido, según ha señalado el diario Expansión el 17 de diciembre de 2015. Banco Santander UK estuvo interesada en la adquisición en el año 2010, pero finalmente ésta no se llevó a cabo porque Banco Santander UK consideraba que Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) no había avanzado en el proceso de segregación de las 300 oficinas y sus activos.
