Banco Mundial admite adquirir posição no projecto da Portucel em Moçambique

O International Finance Corporation (IFC), organismo do Banco Mundial que lida com o sector privado, está a ponderar a aquisição de uma participação nas operações da Portucel em Moçambique, de forma a potenciar o desenvolvimento do projecto integrado de produção florestal, pasta de celulose e energia naquele país africano. O projecto da Portucel em Moçambique está avaliado em 2,3 mil milhões de dólares (cerca de 1,68 mil milhões de euros) e prevê a criação de cerca de 7500 postos de trabalho, nomeadamente nas províncias de Manica e da Zambézia. A primeira fase do projecto consiste em novas plantações de eucalipto numa área de até 60 mil hectares. |
