Spain-based Baleària considered investing in the construction of a ferries terminal in Havana, Cuba, as reported by the company through a press release on 3 December 2015.

La naviera española Baleària ha estudiado invertir en la construcción de una terminal de ferries en la bahía de La Habana, según ha informado la compañía en una nota de prensa el 3 de diciembre de 2015.

El objetivo del proyecto, que supone una inversión aproximada de EUR 35m, es integrar el puerto en la ciudad y facilitar las conexiones marítimas regulares de Cuba con el resto del Caribe, además de poner en marcha cuatro barcos solares que comuniquen distintos puntos de la isla.

La compañía prevé que se creen más de 150 puestos de trabajo directo, además de la generación de empleo indirecto e inducido en la zona.
