According to the news, the factory will be located in Manaus (AM) and will have the objective to produce more than 10,000 motorbikes in 2017, for the Brazilian market. This factory will replace the assembly line in Manaus created through a partnership with Brazil-based Dafra in 2009. A BMW Brasil, com sede em São Paulo que se dedica à fabricação de carros, vai abrir sua primeira fábrica de motos no Brasil, segundo publicou a Reuters em 4 de maio de 2016, citando o BMW Motorrad Brasil, Federico Alvarez. De acordo com a notícia, a fábrica vai ser instalada em Manaus (AM), que terá como meta a produção de mais de 10 mil motocicletas em 2017 para o mercado brasileiro. Ela vai substituir a linha de montagem da marca em Manaus criada em parceria com a brasileira Dafra em 2009. Segundo Federico Alvarez, "a nova fábrica reforça a relevância do Brasil nas estratégias do BMW Group em médio e longo prazos.
