La entidad financiera israelí Israel Discount Bank no ha llegado a un acuerdo para la venta de Discount Bank Latin America, filial de Uruguay, a la entidad financiera española BBVA. La ruptura de las negociaciones se produce por una falta de acuerdo en el precio de venta de la entidad uruguaya.

En septiembre de 2013, Israel Discount Bank anunció la puesta en venta de sus filiales en Uruguay y Estados Unidos. BBVA se colocó como el mejor postor una vez que The Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank) e Industrial & Commercial Bank of China se retirasen de las negociaciones (Ver transacciones relacionadas). Tras esta cancelación Israel Discount Bank desistirá, por el momento, de negociar la venta de su filial.
